Posting blogs: Eliminate commas, colons, semicolons, and exclamation points in eFusion!

One of the things we've learned about blogging, syndicating blog posts, and WSI eFusion in general is that having punctuation in URLs other than dashes and underscores is generally a bad idea.  Where does the punctuation come from?  The blog Title is the culprit. In blogging platforms like WordPress, URLs are automatically stripped of punctuation but in eFusion, the punctuation has to be edited out.  Fortunately, this is very easy to do in eFusion as you'll see in the video below:

Blogs and Syndication: Why They Are Important

Writing a blog about your website is a key factor in generating the greatest amount of traffic to your site possible. With so many social media outlooks, it is very easy to have your blog posted and have thousands of people see it. Word of mouth travels fast and the same could not be truer on the internet. Syndication will become your greatest ally in promoting your website. Here are the steps that we here at WSI take to help your site generate as much traffic as possible:

  • First the blog is actually written about the website, such as what the products offer, or about the company itself.
  • We then add back links to the interior pages in the site are hyperlinked to key words or phrases, which in turn provide value to other pages of the site.
  • The blog is posted through the most popular social media outlooks around such as:
   Twitter
   Facebook
   Digg
   Stumble Upon

               Ping-o-Matic
  • This is what is called syndication and in doing this it ensures the page gets the greatest amount of penetration in the internet.
  • Through content syndication you will increase brand awareness, improve rankings in the SEO, and generate more traffic your site
  • The result of this is that your increased traffic will be more qualified and more targeted, which will eventually convert into sales and high-quality inbound links that lead to other pages on your website.

Tidewater Custom Modular Homes receives an Internet facelift

Our long-time friends, Tidewater Custom Modular Homes of Carrollton Virginia, has just received an Internet facelift and a social media shot in the arm.  Last week WSI Pro Marketing relaunched http://tcmodularhomes.com on the WSI eFusion web business platform. The timing for new site couldn't have been better.

In the highly competitive Internet landscape, most businesses need a refreshed look and feel after about 2 years, along with a complete reassessment of how well business objectives are being met.  WSI launched TC Modular Homes' former site 2 years ago with its Business Edge platform, and while it performed extremely well, it was time to make some fundamental changes in conversion architecture and flow.  In essence, a redesign was necessary to make all the required changes.

Since eFusion is our preferred platform because of its power, marketing, and ease of use, it was a no-brainer upgrading our Modular Homes VA client to this technology.  In addition to a new look and feel, we implemented the following:

  • Vastly improved Conversion Architecture
  • Refreshed search engine optimization
  • Enhanced lead marketing capabilities
  • New blogging and social media optimization services
  • Even the web analytics tracking code was updated with Google's new asynchronous script for an even clearer picture of web interaction

Google Wave now open for everyone

Imagine having access to a collaborative portal where everyone on your team, no matter where in the world they are, has access to the content, images, documents, ideas, notes and conversations each team member has on a particular subject.  That subject could be a project, a book, a brainstorming session, or even art.  How much would you be willing to pay for something like that?  What if I told you it was FREE?? 

Over the last 6 months or so, Google has been Alpha testing -- they couldn't even call it a Beta test -- Google Wave.  This tool is just to cool not to check out.  Up until now, you had to have a special invite from either Google or another Google Wave member to participate.  Well, no more.  Google recently upgraded Wave to Google Labs status and now anyone can join.

Google adds key feature to Google Webmaster Tools

Google keeps making improvement to one of its best resources: Google Webmaster Tools (GWT). I'm in GWT several times a week pouring over tons of data and just discovered some new functionality that I'd like to share.

Google used to just report the average position at which your site's pages appeared in the search results for a particular query. Now users can click on a given search query to see a breakdown of the number of impressions (number of times your site's pages appeared in the results for the query), as well as the amount of clickthrough (number of times searchers clicked on that query's search results to visit a page from your site) for each position your site's pages appeared at in the results associated with that query. Google also shows a list of your site's pages that were linked to from the search results for that search query.  Google's website analytics keep getting better.

Phone Call Tracking by Keyword in Google Analytics for Organic Traffic

A colleague asked recently: 

"We need a solution to track which keywords (Organic or PPC) are generating phone calls. This service also needs to record phone calls and it needs to integrate into Google Analytics conversion tracking. What solutions have people used to track which keywords (Organic or PPC) generate the most phone calls?."

It seems like a tough question but it's not, really.

WSI Pro Marketing has about 40 client using telephone lead tracking to monitor organic phone leads, that is, telephone leads generated from the company website. It's an amazing service and honestly, it's something our clients truly understand amongst all the other reports and data they receive. You need to have at least a WSI Voice Marketer Gold account in order to connect to Google Analytics.  Tracking phone calls and standard phone call routing options are enough for most clients so we normally don't use the Gold plan; thus, most of our accounts are Silver.

One thing to be cautious of is that you will need a Google Analytics expert to set up filtering as the calls tracked  register as a visit and a bounce; thus, skewing visitor data if combined together. This is a good idea anyways becasue it allows segmentation of data points.

New Walk-In Tubs Site Launch Achieves 9.5 percent Conversion Rate in Just 9 Days

WSI Pro Marketing is pleased to announce the launch of its newest site, www.WalkinTub.com.  The website is proudly owned by DCE bathing Systems, Inc. out of Roanoke, Texas.  The client, who is the general manager of Tote® Systems International, another website we manage, came to us late last year with the former site, which was on a dated .asp platform.  His goal was simple:  make WalkinTub.com as successful as ToteSystems.com. 

We immediately got to work on the old site, optimizing each page for both on- and off-page factors.  Traffic rapidly grew and more than doubled in 3 months, but it was soon clear that the in spite of the increased traffic, conversions were suffering.  We then decided to move them over to our eFusion Web development platform.  eFusion provides us the ability to apply a highly customized web design to world class web software -- a marriage made in Heaven.

In addition to vastly improving the conversion architecure, we included phone call tracking and lead capture technologies which made it much easier to determine the effectiveness of the new internet marketing platform.  We also ramped up their social media presence by adding a Walk-In Tub blog and turbo charging its effectiveness with our Rapid Inclusion blog syndication process.

The results are impressive.  In just 9 days, the site has already generated 19 contact form inquires and 12 telephone leads.  That's a 9.5% conversion rate for every unique visitor.
